For the sake of simplicity and space, I did not include EPs that contained songs previously released as singles or singles that were taken off albums. I believe I succeeded in listing 90 to 95 per cent of my dad's recordings. My goal in doing this discography was to list every recorded song possible. Also, his ranchera/rock & roll song 'La Minifalda de Reynalda,' recorded by the 60's Mexican rock group Los Johnny Jets, was the biggest hit of its year in Mexico. 'Nunca Jamas,' which was recorded by the internationally famous Trio Los Panchos, the legendary Mexican balladeer of the 60's, Javier Solis, and the great Jose Feliciano. The most notable examples being: 'Cancion Mexicana,' which was recorded by Mexico's ranchera diva of the 30's and 40's, Lucha Reyes, as well as her counterpart of the 60's and 70's, Lola Beltran. This is the way I wrote it, unedited.)Īside from the hundreds of titles that follow which were recorded by my dad, many of his songs were recorded by other artists throughout the decades. Reprinted by permission of the University of Arizona Press. Some of the text was edited for the book. The book is 'Lalo: My Life and Music' by Lalo Guerrero and Sherilyn Meece Mentes (c) 2002 Edward Guerrero and Sherilyn Meece Mentes. (The following is the discography I put together for the biography of my dad, Lalo Guerrero.
